Submissions
The CJMRP is a peer-reviewed journal that is published three times a year. Submissions related to the profession and practice of midwifery, midwifery in the Canadian context, obstetrics, women’s health, reproductive health, women during their childbearing cycles, political, ethical and legal issues related to midwifery, and consumers of midwifery and obstetric care will be considered. Solicited and unsolicited materials in English and French are welcome. Please contact the Managing Editor for timelines for submission.
Research articles, literature reviews, abstracts, case reports, and articles presenting clinical management strategies will be assessed through the peer review process. The CJMRP also publishes social science research focused on midwives and midwifery from disciplines such as anthropology, economics, education, geography, history, political science, psychology, social policy, and sociology. The CJMRP is primarily interested in material relevant to the profession’s practice, policy and organization.
While peer-reviewed research articles for the primary editorial content, the CJMRP is also interested in other articles, including:
- Articles relevant to midwifery practice, policy and organization
- Significant provincial news – milestones, achievements, updates and challenges
- Collaborative activities
- News of interest to Canadian midwives
- Conference reports
- Notice of upcoming events, conferences, courses, and workshops
- Editorials, dialogues and/or commentaries
- Book, video and DVD reviews
